Robert Dockstader

Goldwell Master Colorist

I currently have 17 years experience in the beauty industry , 12 years as a salon owner, 5 years as a wig stylist for The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts and over 15 years experience in the performing arts as a classically trained tenor.

Fresh out of cosmetology school I joined Kingdom County Productions in the filming of “The Voices Project” which later was renamed “Shout It Out” and have been credited as their key hair stylist and makeup artist. That summer I knew I had found my love for the career of a lifetime. After a summer full of the silver screen I started the shaping of my career and my craft as an apprentice hair designer at Indigo in Burlington, VT. I was given an abundance of education and structure there, which allowed me to continue my education and thrive as a budding hair designer. After two years of education, training and working as a Level II Hair Designer at Indigo, I decided to attain one of my life long goals which was to open a business of my own. In March of 2010 I opened Scherdiva Salon (Scher = German for Shears and Diva-meaning Goddess).

I have worked first hand with educators from top companies such as Sunlights Balayage under Candy Shaw, Goldwell under Timothy Switzer, Bumble & Bumble, Pureology, Paul Mitchell, and Kevin Murphy.  I continuously refresh my education by any means possibly whether that be in person education, or remote learning. I have also attended the Goldwell Academy, NYC where I received my certification as a Master Colorist in 2017. This certification requires completion of four intense trainings consisting of theory and hands-on demonstration of skill learned in the training and testing to receive certification.

As an artist I do not limit myself with the products and tools that I use.  I like to stay current and I always have my eyes and ears open to what is new and modern in the beauty industry.  Currently GOLDWELL is the main color line that I use.   I also use Colorance by Goldwell and Redken Shades EQ as ammonia free options for toning and Goldwell's Elumen for creative fashion colors. I am also a strong supporter of the use of Olaplex.

I take great pride in my work and consult with you to determine what it is you are seeking to compliment your style. As a courtesy to my clients, all of my services include a shampoo, conditioning, scalp massage and blow dry when necessary. The service times have been adjusted accordingly. I take hair color seriously and the health of my clients hair is my utmost priority.

For liability reason I will not use any color products that are brought in by clients.
