Robert Dockstader

Goldwell Master Colorist/Stylist

I have over 15 years experience in the performing arts as a classically trained tenor. I have performed in operas with various groups in VT and NH, and 5yrs as a wig stylist for The Flynn Center for the Performing Arts.

Fresh out of school I joined Kingdom County Productions in the filming of “The Voices Project” which later was renamed “Shout It Out” as key hair stylist and makeup. That summer I knew I had found my love for the career of a lifetime. After a summer full of the silver screen I started the shaping of my career and my craft as an apprentice hair designer at Indigo in Burlington, VT. I was given much education and structure there which allowed me to continue my education and thrive as a young hair designer. I have worked first hand with educators from top companies such as Bumble & Bumble, Pureology, Goldwell, Paul Mitchell, and Kevin Murphy. I also sponsor the Miss Vermont Organization and work one on one with the reigning Miss VT and Vermont’s Outstanding Teen. I continuously refresh my education with Classes from Goldwell, The Goldwell Academy, Online Education through my hairdressers.com and interpret them with my own artistic impression. I use Goldwell Color segments which include Topchic, Colorance, Colorance Intense, Nectaya (ammonia free permanent color) and Elumen (High Performance Ammonia free ). I take pride in my work and consult with you to determine what it is you are seeking to shape your style. As a courtesy to my clients, all of my services include a shampoo, conditioning, scalp massage and blow dry when necessary . The service times have been adjusted accordingly.

After two years of education, training and working as a Level II Hair Designer at Indigo, I decided to attain one of my life long goals which was to open a business of my own. In March of 2010 I opened Scherdiva Salon (Scher = German for Shears and Diva-meaning Goddess) . Scherdiva Salon has moved up in the world. We have now opened an 1100 Sq Ft salon located at 26 Susie Wilson Rd in Essex, VT. I offer high end services & hair care products at a reasonable price.

I welcome you to visit my space by booking a consultation which is free of charge by contacting me by phone or through my online scheduling provider Rosy Salon Software. It is a free service and in order to schedule online with Scherdiva Salon you need to register for a free account. Here you can view a record of your previous visits, schedule new appointments, and manage your existing appointments. Online Scheduling is key to my operation and time management. Although I do take walk-ins I am primarily booked by appointment only. If you haven’t noticed yet there is a link on the bottom of this page that says “Make An Appointment”.
